About the Position: This Geographical Information Specialist GS-0301-07/09/11 is with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Division, Fort Worth District, Real Estate Division, Planning and Appraisal Branch in Fort Worth, Texas.

Duties

Establish plans for the effective utilization of remotely sensed data and GIS systems in Military and Civil works programs. Develop methodologies, applications, and databases for the display of spatially referenced management data including schedules, budgets, expenditures, and other program and project management data. Evaluate new technology to determine its applicability. Prepares and distributes common user information regarding software and applications facilitating information resource sharing of applications and databases to prevent redundancy. Participate on Project Delivery Teams for assigned military or civil works studies or projects. Contact other GIS specialists to obtain information and interpret findings from ongoing analyses.

Requirements

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
