The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a senior logistics management specialist in support of acquisition phases of assigned systems, programs, or major equipment and to direct, develop, implement or function as part of the logistics management operations for the CAM Requirements Branch and HQ AFMC/A4/10 community.
Duties
Senior specialist leads and develops new theories and requirements for planning, managing, and coordinating life cycle logistics and allocating resources for Depot Purchased Equipment Maintenance (DPEM), Sustaining Engineering (SE), Technical Orders (TO), and Contract Logistics Support (CLS).
Defines and oversees Air Force process for DPEM, SE, TO and CLS requirements and identifies critical areas that require higher-level review or action.
Serves as key focal point for detailed planning, management, and coordination of life cycle logistics support in relation to customer requirements.
Ensures relevant Air Force acquisition, logistics, and program management directives are clear and provided to enable program managers to accomplish assigned tasks.
Represents the organization and higher management echelons and provides current and future status information on assigned projects/programs, as required, in high level meetings and discussions with senior government officials, both within and outside the DoD.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:I have one year or will have within 120 days of the closing date of the announcement experience equivalent to the GS-12 (or higher) grade level or equivalent (may have been obtained in the federal service, military, or public sector). Experience includes using the knowledge of concepts, principles, procedures, regulations, laws, and instructions applicable to the Logistics; providing technical assistance to supervisor regarding duties; and preparing programs, policies, and activities regarding logistics. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Broad knowledge of the theories and principles of Logistics and Sustainment Management, and of Integrated Logistics Systems (ILS) planning.
Mastery of the application of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of ILS planning.
processes and plans, so as to enhance the quality and effectiveness of complex logistics programs.
Comprehensive knowledge of laws, policies, regulations and precedents applicable to ILS planning.
Knowledge of DoD ILS program goals and sequences of key ILS planning events and milestones, and of methods of evaluating the worth of ILS plans.
Expert knowledge is applied to design and conduct comprehensive ILS planning studies for which boundaries are extremely broad and difficult to determine in advance.
Knowledge of military command structures, missions and programs for organizations involved in ILS planning.
Comprehensive knowledge of PCSM support needs of assigned programs, systems equipment and components. Expert knowledge of the administrative processes and documentation requirements of PCSM planning

Education
Education can not be substituted for Specialized Experience at the GS 12 and above.
