You will serve as a AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SPECIALIST (TERMINAL) in the AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL DIVISION of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA.
Duties
You will coordinate and control the movement of all Instrument FLight Rule air traffic operating within assigned en route control airspace operating within assigned area of jurisdiction.
You will formulate and issue clearances and advisory data to aircraft operating within assigned area of jurisdiction.
You will provide radar vectors to aircraft to ensure a safe and expeditious movement of aircraft along airways.
You will use and direct all other operating positions necessary to assist in the control of air traffic.
You will coordinate and control the movement of all Instrument FLight Rule Air traffic operating within assigned approach area of jurisdiction.
Requirements

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Air traffic control specialists must possess the facility ratings required at the facility where the position is located. You will be required to maintain a valid Air Traffic Control Specialist and/or Control Tower Operator Certificate.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This position is a Full Performance Level Air Traffic Control Specialist (Center/Terminal) with qualification on all operating positions in the CERAP.
- Failure of the incumbent to meet training requirements within normal time limits (12 months from the date of assignment) may constitute grounds for reassignment, demotion or separation from employment.
- This position requires a current Department of the Navy Class III medical certificate (physical) and an Air Traffic Control Specialist certificate with TRACON/CERAP/ARTCC rating.
- This position requires to be facility rated on all positions of operation in the CERAP and complete the facility OJTI course.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications
For the GS-11
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing en route control to FAA sector airspace and airways.
For the GS-12
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing en route control to FAA sector airspace and airways; AND experience as a full performance level Radar Air Traffic Controller providing approach control services to airfield terminal environments.
