You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER in the ORDNANCE OPERATIONS DIVISION, ORDNANCE HANDLING BRANCH of NMC CWD DET NORTH ISLAND.
Duties
You will offload and on-load materials including ammunition, explosives, chemical munitions, fuels, missiles, and associated components from trucks, rail cars, vessels, and other conveyances.
You will determine sequences of loading and unloading.
You will unitize, palletize, package, mark, and label materials in accordance with safety practices.
You will process final receipt and issue documentation.
You will conduct unscheduled inventories for magazine refusals, and scan discrepancies.
You will operate motor vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of more than 10,000 pounds.
Inspect and evaluate work, materials, equipment, written procedures, and refences.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position requires you to obtain and maintain Explosive Certification requirements within 6 months of employment.
- This position requires you to possess a current Class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Hazardous Materials "H" endorsement.
- This position requires you to possess a current Forklift certification, or obtain a Forklift certification within one year of selection.
- This position requires that ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
- This position requires that you have visual acuity and accurate color discrimination.
Qualifications

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
