About the Position: This position serves as a logistics management specialist, providing advice and guidance on the critical issues involving current and future logistics concept development capabilities in support of the U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC) and its subordinate commands.
Duties
Integrates Concept Development Learning actions required of Major Subordinate Commands into a plan to support future concept development within Army Materiel Command to illustrate how current and future capabilities will operate.
Conducts comprehensive studies of logistics concepts with AMC staff, MSCs, and other concept development stakeholders to determine long range concepts for logistics support in regards to Future Logistics Force issues across DOTMLPF-P domain.
Works with interdisciplinary task groups, involving cross-command programs to address concepts and develops required capabilities.
Participates in the development and/or review of logistics concepts and future plans based on extensive analysis during experimentation, temporary duty assignments, conferences, interviews with subject matter experts and working groups.
Regularly reviews AMC related efforts or initiatives (e.g. experiments, prototype development, etc) to evaluate levels of productivity and assesses compliance with established procedures and policies. Recommends changes and improvements.
Coordinates logistics concept development internally and externally among Capabilities, Development and Integration Directorates in other Centers of Excellence.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Testing Designated Position (TDP)/Drug Testing. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random drug testing thereafter
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 20% of the time.
- One-year probationary period may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Participating in the development and/or review of logistics concepts and future plans based on extensive analysis; 2) Analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of logistics concepts development programs and/or operations; 3) Military planning policy and concepts, wartime/emergency logistics doctrine and organization, and planning systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
