Duties

Administers ETIMS. Provides training and assistance to 36th Wing personnel and Andersen AB tenant units. Serves as the Maintenance Group Point of Contact for 36th Wing personnel and Andersen AB tenant units with regards to recommending selection of and installing new ETIMS deployment solutions and maintains all computer systems within the Maintenance Group. Administers the ETIMS security program within the Maintenance Group but may assist 36th Wing personnel and Andersen AB tenant Units.

  • Positions which perform information security as an inherent, primary purpose of their position: Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment.
  • This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties.
  • A waiver of this six-month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
  • A pre-employment physical examination will be required.
  • Eligible for a Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) which is subject to change without notice

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/0300/computer-clerk-and-assistant-series-0335/ SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-08, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of computer equipment, internal computer processes, application and utility programs, and magnetic media. Knowledge of a wide range of computer techniques, requirements, sources, and procedures. Knowledge of a wide range of analytical and diagnostic methods, procedures, and principles to identify system failures, take corrective actions to resume normal operations, and implement procedures to allow for partial use until problems are resolved. Knowledge of some elements of programming, systems analysis, and equipment operations. Knowledge of current system software supported at the Maintenance Group to include operating system and application software packages. Knowledge of Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time--in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-08 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of DoD and Air Force automated data processing and networking standards, policies, and techniques. Knowledge of computer hardware and software systems and their interfaces; and higher level programming languages and other job control languages. Knowledge of data content and output options for a variety of administrative, scientific and/or technical program applications that are processed on any of several multi-program operating systems. Knowledge of facility environment and infrastructure to support computer systems. Ability to use and maintain a computer system, equipment, and software; analyze computer network, software, and hardware problems and develop effective and economical solutions; and train users on new computer systems. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
