OIG is organized into seven operational units: the Immediate Office of the Inspector General, Office of the Counselor, Office of Audits and Evaluations, Office of Healthcare Inspections, Office of Investigations, Office of Management and Administration, and Office of Special Reviews. In addition to the Washington, DC, headquarters, OIG has offices located in more than 60 locations throughout the country.
Duties
As a Management Analyst, you will:
Assess, analyze, make, and implement recommendations to solve problems in a customer service environment.
Manage and establish policy and procedures for the Division for subject matters within the Administrative and Financial Operations Division's responsibility.
Perform, monitor, and coordinate research of OIG program areas within the Administrative and Financial Operations Division.
Maintain personal contacts with a variety and number of officials internal and external to Department of Veterans Affairs management, officials of other agencies, and representatives from other offices for the purpose of general liaison, exchange of information, and developing and revising audit and general administrative policies and procedures.

Specialized experience for the GS-13 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:
- Applying analytical techniques for assessing the effectiveness or efficiency of program operations or work processes; AND
- Consolidating information from multiple sources into a completed written document ; AND
- Utilizing communication skills to establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders; AND
- Presenting and implementing recommendations to high level management in order to resolve an issue and/or overcome a challenge.
Specialized experience for the GS-12 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-11 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:
-Collecting and researching data for evaluations of programs/operations; AND
-Reviewing, analyzing, and providing information from multiple systems; AND
-Researching laws, regulations, guidelines, and approved procedures to provide findings; AND
-Applying management analyses techniques, setting priorities, organizing work, and meeting deadlines for multiple projects; AND
-Utilizing communication skills to establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12level for 52 weeks.
For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a nontemporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
