This position is located at Office of the Inspector General for Tax Admin, Office of Information Technology- Deputy Inspector General for Information Technology/Chief Information Officer.
Duties
As a Supervisory IT Program Manager/Director of Information Technology Support Services, you will be involved in managing several diverse programs, including client device management, and web application development and maintenance. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, directing and managing the full range of Division functions with an emphasis on providing the right technology vision, strategy and roadmap to enable TIGTA's business.
As a Supervisory IT Specialist, you will:
Serve as the central point for technology solutions innovation within IT, while supporting other innovation efforts throughout TIGTA. Directs the operations of the Division, which may have multiple sections, supervising professional, technical and clerical employees.
Lead technology innovation to explore how these emerging technologies can transform the business.
Establish and communicate requirements for technology applications, services, systems and equipment; negotiating and managing vendor contracts performance standards.
Advise various TIGTA stakeholders on IT policies and practices.
Manage the operations of the Division through program reviews, establishment of management practices, assessment of workload requirements, and utilization of resources.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Oversight of program-level initiatives including budget and policy formulation; AND
- Managing projects in the conception, design and development of integrated computer hardware and software information systems; AND
- Providing advice and recommendations to resolve integration issues related to the implementation of new systems; AND
- Managing the planning and delivery of customer support programs that provide the full range of IT services to end-users of IT hardware and software throughout the organization.
In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.
Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
