You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT in the Staffing Department of OCHR NORFOLK OPERATIONS CENTER.
THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT.
Duties
You will utilize human resources information system e.g., Defense Civilian Personnel Data System [DCPDS] or similar system, to perform initial intake functions for Requests for Personnel Actions.
You will perform clerical and administrative support (e.g., typing, filing, data entry) for a human resources office.
You will communicate with customers to identify and obtain missing personnel documents and information.
You will review Requests for Personnel Action (RPAs) received from serviced commands for accuracy, completeness, or missing documents.
You will clear placement programs (i.e. Reasonable Accommodations, Re-Promotion Priority Program, Priority Consideration Lists, and Priority Placement Program) for recruitment actions.
Requirements

Qualifications
GS04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of general experience in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Examples of general experience:
Experience applying knowledge of administrative support duties in a human resources office environment.
Experience retrieving information and maintaining suspense records to support recruitment operations.
Experience utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and Outlook.
Experience performing general office administrative and clerical procedures.
OR-successfully completed at least two full academic years of education above high school or have a combination of experience and education that equates to 100% of the requirement.
GS05: Your resume must demonstrate at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector:
Experience providing basic information and assistance to internal and external customers.
Experience establishing and maintaining electronic merit staffing case files.
Experience assembling supporting documentation for new hires and reviewing forms to ensure required information such as dates, and signatures are provided and complete.
Experience preparing letters, reports, tabulated material, memoranda, etc., in either draft or final form, building positions and processing routine, recurring personnel actions.
OR- successfully completed four years of education above high school level, or have a combination of experience and education that equates to 100% of the requirement.
