Position located: NAT AIR/SPCE INTEL CE, WRIGHT PATTERSON AFB, OH The primary purpose: To serve as security specialist for NASIC with subordinate organizations below them to protect resources from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information or material considered vital to the organization's mission interests, national defense or national security.

Duties

This is a GG grade 12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG 12 duties for the Professional work category are at the Full Performance work level and are equivalent to those at the GS 12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. ***Salary Ranges includes local market supplement*** DUTIES Serves as security program specialist executing and enforcing compliance with operational, functional, and mission assurance aspects of an integrated Information Security program. Executes and enforces compliance with the organization Personnel Security program. Serves as the organization's representative for Industrial Security issues. Administers the Physical Security Program for the organization.

  • All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
  • Position is designated special-sensitive and must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

  • This posn is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program

  • Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program.
  • Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
  • Shift work and emergency overtime may be required

  • Subject the incumbent to those examinations and or tests that are necessary to obtain and retain a security clearance and any special accesses required by the position in accordance with AFI 36-1101.
  • The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC) conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this
  • position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification and AFI 36-2645, Security Professional Certification and Development. The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without
  • the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field reoresebtatuve.
  • Incumbent may be subject to psychological screening/polygraph testing as an inherent primary requirement of their position.
  • At times work will involve climbing ladders, crawling in small/tight spaces, etc. This position requires the incumbent to climb up and/or down to inspect and respond to sensors within port holes, underground in tunnels, above ceilings etc.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include Knowledge of a wide range of concepts, principles and practices in security administration and intelligence, such as would be gained through extensive graduate study or experience, and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex work assignments or a comprehensive, intensive, practical knowledge of Information and Personnel Security. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. Knowledge of the intelligence enterprise to support and promote information sharing and strategies. Knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs. Skill in the use of analytical principles, practices, and techniques to review and evaluate security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the organization. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
