About the Position: This position is located at the MCoE Safety Office, Fort Moore GA. Fort Moore is located 100 miles south of Atlanta, Georgia, and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Public transportation and free parking are available.

Duties

Conduct independent risk management assessments to assist troop commanders at all levels in the development of operations' risk management plans. Prepare reports and maintains records of work accomplishments and administrative information including providing input on employee performance. Conduct inspections IAW Command Inspection Program and TRADOC Accreditation standards to ensure the effectiveness of the Brigade Safety Program to identify strengths and weaknesses to develop methods to improve operational and systemic deficiencies. Identify high-hazard risks involving a wide variety of changing work processes, operational problems, environmental conditions, war fighting systems, and/or hazardous chemicals.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and DA Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban/Lautenberg Amendment. This act bans individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence and certain others from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
  • This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer
  • May be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and/or irregular duty hours commensurate with mission requirements.
  • This postion is exposed on a regular and recurring basis to machines and equipment in operation, hazardous materials including compressed gases and flammable liquids, and construction hazards.
  • You must have a current CP-12 Level 1 certification and an Explosive Safety Level 1 certification per the ACTEDS plan for CP-12 Safety and Occupational Health.
