About the Position: This position is located at Fort Moore, GA, Installation Management Command. Fort Moore, GA is located 100 miles south of Atlanta, GA, and is adjacent to Columbus, GA and Phenix City, Alabama. The geography and climate are ideal for year-round military training. Public transportation and free parking are available.
Duties
Conduct program evaluations to identify operational safety and health problems requiring resolution.
Evaluate new trends to determine the need for further inquiry regarding elimination or control of serious hazards to life and property.
Identify deficiencies requiring correction to properly implement national safety standards.
Inspect work areas to identify and eliminate safety hazards or unhealthy environmental conditions.
Serve as a Garrison Master Driver.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain the Master Driver Certification M9.
- Pre-employment physical required.
- Incumbent must complete the CP-12 Level 1 Skills outlined in the 0018 Job Series master training plan and be awarded the CP-12 Safety and Occupational Health Professional Certification within 12 months of hire.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing safety or occupational health program elements; developing and recommending safety and occupational health policy to higher levels of management; Serve as a Garrison Master Driver Managing the garrison Driver's Training Program for both Soldiers and Civilian; Apply safety and occupational health laws, regulations, principles, theories, practices, and procedures to advise on or resolve technical matters dealing with occupational safety and health requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
