About the Position: This position is located at the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCOE), Fort Moore, Ga. The MCOE is located 100 miles south of Atlanta, Georgia, and is adjacent to Columbus, GA and Phenix City, AL. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Public transportation and free parking are available.
Duties
Develops, implements, plans, directs and controls a comprehensive safety and occupational health program involving a wide variety of industrial processes, shops, equipment and material.
Formulates written procedures for implementation of command safety policy guidance.
Initiates development of garrison supplements and directives on safety and occupational health.
Plans, assigns, and evaluates work of subordinates.
Serves as the principal technical authority to the Garrison Commander and all levels of management regarding implementation and execution of the Army Safety Program.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
- This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
- This position requires the incumbent to be Career Program (CP)-12 Level 1 certified in accordance with Army Career Training, Education and Development System (ACTEDS) or be able to obtain certification within 12 months of reporting for duty.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing safety and occupational health standards, regulations, practices, and procedures to eliminate or control actual or potential hazards; Inspecting workplaces or processes for compliance with established safety and occupational health policies to identify actual or potential hazards. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
