About the Position: This position is located with the Logistics Readiness Center at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, bordering Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2-hour drive east and Springfield is a 1-hour drive west of Fort Leonard Wood.
Duties
Take measurements for garment alterations.
Make alterations to military uniforms.
Utilize an engraver to make name plates.
Position and attaching name plates and patches according to regulation.
Perform preventive maintenance on machines.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent is subject to a medical clearance examination prior to employment. This position may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination.
- Position requires heavy lifting up to 50lbs.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Sewing Machine Operator~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform sewing duties such as: lengthening and shortening garments; operating a sewing machine to make alterations and attaching patches to garments. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas requiring standing, stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently required to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds. Occasionally required to lift and carry heavier, bulkier items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: Usually works in shops or other enclosed areas that are adequately lighted, ventilated and heated. Work may be dirty, dusty and greasy. Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises and noise from sewing machines. Is also subject to strains and injury from lifting and handling heavy stock.
