About the Position: This position is located at A.T. Augusta Army Medical Center (formerly Fort Belvoir Community Hospital), Nutrition Services Department - Call Center located in the kitchen. Work hours are 5:00 A.M. - 1:30 P.M, rotating weekend and holiday schedule.

Duties
Receiving phone calls from patients/family members/ staff/ dieticians.
Checking electronic medical record for prescribed diet order and making sure it flows over to the comp nutrition system.
Maintain control of inpatient meal orders and room service menus.
Accept meal and nourishment orders from patients, nursing staff and guests by phone and in person.
Educate patients on proper meal ordering procedures and of dietary restrictions related to their prescribed diet order.
Track menu selections for designated nutrients to keep patients within limits established by prescribed diet orders.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons.
- This position may require the incumbent to work on any day or shift, including PMs, nights, weekends, holidays, or on an "on call" basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. General and/or Specialized Experience: Six months of general experience (1) in any type of work that demonstrates the applicant's ability to perform the work of the position, or (2) experience that provided a familiarity with Dietetics and Nutrition AND six months of specialized experience which includes providing food, nutrition and/or dietetics services; answering calls; providing effective customer service; and operating computerized systems in a medical treatment facility. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-03).

Education: Two years of education above the high school level that included at least 12 semester hours in subjects related to the position, such as, Dietetics or Nutrition.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education by 60. Add the two percentages
