You will serve as a EQUAL EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST in the EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY OFFICE of COMNAVREG MIDLANT NORFOLK.
Duties
You will submit reasonable accommodation reports to the command by required due dates and verify the Electronic Accommodation Tracker is updated as needed when there are active cases and at a minimum every 2 weeks.
You will administer the Reasonable Accommodation program in accordance with established requirements and applicable case law.
You will facilitate meetings to resolve difficult or emotionally charged employment disputes.
You will train supervisors and managers on EEO programs including EEO complaint processing, Special Emphasis Program, and Affirmative Employment Program.
You will provide guidance to managers and employees on the discrimination complaints process.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Assisting in the processing of requests for reasonable accommodations; 2) Analyzing Reasonable Accommodation requests in accordance with directives (e.g. Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (as amended), the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (as amended), Executive Order 13164, or other Federal Regulations, EEOC directives) as applicable in order to advise managers on whether or not employees and applicants can be accommodated or returned to work; 3) Advising managers and employees on EEO policies, procedures, laws, and regulations; 4) Providing consulting service to management officials at all levels in identifying barriers to equal employment and providing technical assistance to carry out their EEO objectives; 5) Designing, developing, and conducting briefings, orientation, or training for managers, supervisors, and employees on EEO program requirements; 6) Identifying under representations of women and minorities and providing guidance to managers regarding the Special Emphasis Program; 7) Assisting in performing Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) counseling and processing of informal and formal complaints..
