Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Physical Security Specialist, you will use your knowledge of and experience with the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) to optimize business results and customer experience by:
Developing procedures and physical measures designed to safeguard personnel, facilities, property, and operations from unauthorized access, espionage, terrorist, sabotage, damage and theft.
Ensuring that facilities and personnel are protected through a variety of state-of-the-art security equipment and devices such as variety of alarm and detection devices; closed circuit television systems; locking devices for doors, windows, vaults, and gates; shielding for cables carrying Automatic Data Processing (ADP), communications, and other electronics impulses that might translatable or make a facility vulnerable to penetration; computer security software, access control systems such as various visual and electronic badging systems.
Assisting in the development of guidance for other agency personnel in the application of security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a variety of work situations and various degrees or levels of security controls.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service performing all of the following: 1) Resolving security problems for multi-layered security systems; personnel access controls; physical protection devices; monitoring equipment; security forces; remote alarm equipment; or other measures; 2) Working with a variety of security equipment or devices designed to protect personnel, equipment, facilities, and information; and 3) Detecting and protecting against electronic emanation vulnerabilities, audio countermeasures, and computer vulnerabilities.
