You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the NAVY SUPPLY CORPS SCHOOL of Newport, RI.
Duties
You will develop brochures, bulletins, charts, photographs, and other materials to promote programs for internal and external audiences.
You will coordinate activities and events with other community relations officers, public affair officials, and local business representatives for outreach
efforts.
You will develop relationships with media representatives to ensure readiness of public affairs outlets.
You will act as a command spokesperson to provide accurate and credible responses to media and public inquiries.
You will compose routine official correspondence, reports, and records on a personal computer based on information obtained from various sources
and methods.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing written communication materials to convey information concerning subjects related to an organization; 2) Analyzing programs and the characteristics of target audiences to determine the most effective communication techniques to use in reaching the public; and 3) Developing public affairs campaign to convey information to selected audiences interested in or affected by the organization's programs.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled.
