About the Position: This position is located at Womack Army Medical Center (AMC), Fort Liberty, NC, within the Medical Services, Pain Mangement Clinic. Incumbent will provide administrative and clerical support to the Pain Management Clinic as the business office manager.
Duties
Prepare and control requests for personnel actions, awards, performance appraisals, employee records, etc.
Maintain employee records and advises supervisor of conflicts.
Consider independent variables in deciding which system to use to produce text documents.
Utilize automation software to prepare reports, spreadsheets, charts, or graphs for the division.
Greet guests in person and telephonically to ascertain the nature of their visit.
Provide available non-technical information to customers of the organization.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
- This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position requires incumbent to regularly lift materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing automated computer programs for drafting correspondences and generating reports; maintaining office records in accordance with agency's regulations and guidelines; scheduling appointments and meetings for staff within the office; and receiving/routing calls and visitors to the office. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
