You will serve as a Materials Handler in the Supply Management Department of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE.

Duties

You will perform physical distribution functions as directed by the Supervisory Material Handler. You will perform physical distribution and other actions within the work area, and determines how and when material is to be consolidated for shipment, local delivery, inspection, suspension, or processing for storage. You will independently loads and unloads various types of vehicles using a wide range of material handling equipment (MHE) (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, side loaders, tugs and trucks). You will processes receipt transactions into applicable Automated Data Processing Systems (ADPS) to update records and files, such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). You will pack and re-pack a variety of items (i.e. tools, Depot Level Repairables, etc.) by arranging, wrapping, or cushioning them in specified prefabricated cartons, boxes, crates, and other containers as outlined in regulations and directives.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Forklift certification.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

I have the ability to perform common tasks including receiving, storing, packaging, and preservation, delivering, loading, shipping, physical inventory actions, and other general tasks involving the movement and processing of materials, including hazardous, in accordance with prescribed regulations and laws; assists in documenting discrepancies and damage; selecting, palletizing a broad range of hazardous materials and other items considering their use, size and shape; assists in using computer applications to reflect receipts, stows, location changes, issues, and inventory counts; determining proper handling and storage procedures for special categories of material such as Level I, Depot Level Repairables (DLRs).
