You will serve as a MATERIAL HANDLING INSPECTOR in the NAVY MUNITIONS COMMAND CONUS EAST DIVISION of NMC CED DET JACKS COMPONENT PENSACOLA.
Duties
You will provide primary ordnance handling support and/or required augmentative/integrated support to active-duty components and/or civilian components as required.
You will perform receipt and issue inspection of ordnance items including receipt/issue quantities to documentation and to certify the items as ready for issue.
You will construct, place sheathes, and install wooden blocks, wedges, bracing structures, bulkheads, deck boxes, and other staying devices to ensure the safe transport of ordnance cargo.
You will conduct inventory per established schedules and regulatory guidance and unscheduled inventory for magazine refusals, bounce backs, scan discrepancies and/or other identified discrepancies.
You will operate tractor trailers loaded with hazardous material.
You will offload and onload ordnance materials, including explosives and toxic munitions such as radioactive materials and solid propellant missiles, from and to trucks, rail cars, vessels and other conveyances using forklifts.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Successful completion of DON Ammunition Sentencing training for Quality Inspection certification.
- Successful completion of explosive handling and safety training.
- Successful completion of blocking and bracing training.
- Ability to obtain and maintain materials handling equipment (MHE) operator's license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an explosive hazardous materials driver's license to operate motor vehicles having a gross vehicle weight of more than 32,000 pounds.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a commercial driver's license (CDL) endorsement for hazardous materials for off base or over public highway movement/shipment.
- Successful completion of automated information systems and inventory training and must attend Electrical Explosive Safety for Naval Facilities course.
- Must successfully complete explosives safety course as required by NAVSEA OP 5 Volume 1 and NMCCEDINST 8023.2
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
