This Direct-Hire position is at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Office of the Commissioner (OC), Office of Digital Transformation, Office of Information Security in Rockville, Maryland which provides high quality, secure, and efficient Information Technology (IT) solutions that enable the FDA to promote and protect the public health.
Duties
As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will independently perform one of the following functions:
Cybersecurity Analyst/ISSO- Ensures operational, technical and security controls are appropriately applied to meet federal requirements.
SMC Watch Officer- Performs cybersecurity analysis, operations, and 24x7 monitoring of the FDA IT infrastructure, and proactively address imminent threats to prevent risk exposure and disruption.
Cybersecurity Cloud Engineer-Designs, engineer and implement security measures for cloud solutions.
Cybersecurity/Counterintelligence Operations Specialist -Conducts research, briefings, and analysis associated with possible insider threats, counterintelligence, foreign travel, and cybersecurity incidents.
Cyber Threat/Vulnerability Engineer-Supports engineering, implementation, configuration and operational support for security tools and capabilities to prevent and mitigate cyber risk.

Qualifications
The position of Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) falls under the 2210 occupational series. To qualify for this position at grade GS-13, you must meet Time-in-Grade requirements by 11:59 pm EST on 08/23/2023.
Basic Qualification Requirements:Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

Minimum Qualification Requirements, GS-13:
You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that is equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, which includes initiating, developing, implementing and evaluating the security programs of an organization; and providing expert advice, counsel and instructions to employees and supervisors on security issues in the areas of Cybersecurity Analyzation and Information System Security (ISSO); System Management Controller (SMC) Watch; Cybersecurity Cloud Engineering; Cybersecurity and Counterintelligence Operations; and/or Cyber Threat and Vulnerability Engineering.
Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. The specialized experience must demonstrate one year of full-time work experience , or the equivalent if part-time (for example, an employee working 20 hours per week for a 12-month period should be credited with 6 months of experience.) Experience may have been obtained in either the federal service or its equivalent with state or local government, the private sector, or nongovernmental organizations.
