The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first-level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over non-supervisory employees assigned to the Compute and Store (SRPC) Branch at HQ Cyberspace Capabilities Center (HQ CCC).

Duties

Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the SRPC branch, ensuring AF Compute and Store programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Serves as an IT systems/programs technical expert and advisor involving the development of procedural and policy guidance related to the evaluation and implementation of IT programs, systems, and networks.

• This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.

• May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or Shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours
• Incumbent is required to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually
• A 1-year supervisory probationary period will be required, if not previously met

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, there is no Group Coverage Qualification Standard for this series. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Through experience in Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes technical expert and IT portfolio manager, and, as such, is responsible for Air Force IT programs/systems information integrity, assurance, and IOC management, development, acquisition, implementation, and sustainment. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of IT systems operations, automated communications systems, systems and facilities, practices, and processes. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Broad and comprehensive knowledge of and skill in applying IT policy, principles, methodology, technology, programs, and systems. In-depth knowledge of IT systems project management principles and methods, to include requirements determination, development, acquisition, programming and budgeting, policies, principles, and security testing. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
