You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST in the SECURITY & TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER PROGRAM, 83300 of NAVWARSYSCEN ATLANTIC CHARLESTON SC.

Duties

You will process naval messages IAW EKMS1(SERIES) to obtain authorization to transfer COMSEC materials, increase the account authorized holdings, request disposition for obsolete COMSEC material.. You will apply knowledge of Communications Security/Key Management Infrastructure (CMS/KMI) regulations governing the acquisition, monitoring, and maintenance of COMSEC material. You will interpret and convey security requirement to COMSEC users. You will apply knowledge of security equipment and devices including locks, security containers, vaults, and other approved methods for safeguarding Navy assets. You will secure material, initiate action to destroy material in accordance with national policies.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 723 level Intermed/Journeyman within 12 months of appointment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to have must have completed the Key Management Infrastructure Operating Account Managers (KOAM) course, at the time of application.
  • Member must obtain and maintain at least one SPeD certification per SECNAVINST 5500.38 within 2 years of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting the Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) manager implementing Communications Security (COMSEC) policies and procedures; providing training in proper handling of COMSEC materials; ensuring that COMSEC material is properly packaged and shipped. . Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related
