This position is located within the Agricultural Research Service, Plains Area, Lincoln, Nebraska.
In this position, you will serve as the initial point-of-contact for all questions, information, and problem resolution in the areas of budget and accounting, agreements, travel, human resources, files management, correspondence preparation and control, time and attendance, office automation systems, and purchasing/procurement.
Duties
Maintains a detailed knowledge of travel policies and regulations in order to serve as a technical resource to unit personnel.
Provides training and advisory services to the RL and professional staff in all program administrative procedures ensuring compliance with regulations.
Assists in developing in-depth reviewer contact lists.

Requirements
- You must be a US Citizen or US National.

GS-06
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS-06 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-05 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience applying established guidelines involving program or administrative processes; assisting with office administration tasks including coordinating travel, ordering office supplies or receiving leave requests; and using word processing programs to edit documents.
GS-07
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS-07 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-06 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience participating in program planning support work including research project coordination, travel documentation, budget coordination/tracking, agreements, purchasing/procurement of supplies and equipment, or human resources administration; using a variety of graphical, spreadsheet, and database software for editing documents; and providing training and advisory services to the professional staff.
Applicants must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
