You will serve as a SECRETARY (OA) in the NAVY SUPPLY CORPS SCHOOL, NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND.
Duties
You will establish and maintain office records to assist in the efficient operation of the office.
You will compose correspondence into final form to review for correct spelling, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
You will greet visitors and callers and route to proper sources to resolve their inquiries.
You will draft computer generated correspondence (e.g., suspense date reports, graphs, indices, statistics) using Microsoft Office applications.
You will discuss schedules with personnel to ensure commitments made at conferences or meetings are met.
You will compile written reports to provide status updates.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing automated systems to complete administrative, recordkeeping, and travel duties, such as Microsoft Office Suite and Defense Travel System (DTS); 2) Communicating effectively in writing and verbally, while also displaying proper use of the English language, grammar, punctuation, and spelling; and 3) Preparing, receiving, reviewing, and verifying documents for accuracy, in addition to locating and compiling data from files and reports, as well as maintaining calendars and tracking deadlines and other important dates.
