About the Position: This position is with Department of Behavioral Health, Family Advocacy Program, Evans Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson, Colorado. Relocation expenses will not be paid.

Duties

Work independently as a licensed clinical social worker using advanced concepts, principles, procedures, practices, professional knowledge and sound judgment. Conduct comprehensive and complex risk assessments, clinical interviews, and psychosocial assessment of children and adults. Provide therapeutic treatment to victims, offenders and family members of those involved in domestic violence or child abuse or neglect. Make treatment recommendations to the multi-disciplinary Family Advocacy Program Case Review Committee.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires a Childcare National Agency Check w/ Inquiries (CNACI) background investigation and has periodic re-verification requirements.
  • This is an Inclement Weather Essential position, you must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
  • This position is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) Training and certification sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA). Advanced certification (e.g., Advanced Life Support) does not supersede BLS completion.
  • This position may require occasional on call duties.
  • Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges
  • A current and valid state driver's license is required. Some local and regional travel may be required.
  • A pre-employment medical examination is required.

Basic Requirement for Social Worker (Clinical): Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year specialized experience which includes demonstrated experience assessing incidents of domestic abuse and/or child abuse/neglect cases; interviewing victims, offenders, children and family members regarding allegations of abuse or neglect; and developing treatment plans based on identified problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Selective Placement Factor: This position requires 2 years of experience working in the field of child abuse and domestic abuse. License: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Interpersonal SkillsProblem SolvingPsychologyTherapy and Counseling Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
