Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As an Information Technology Specialist, you will use your knowledge of and experience with the Office of the Chief Information Officer to optimize business results and customer experience by:
Designing, operating, and maintaining database/data lake/data hub systems ensuring the effective and efficient storage and retrieval of information critical to achieving mission related goals.
Restoring disrupted databases/data lake/data hub systems to normal operation by diagnosing and resolving a wide range of highly complex, often unprecedented problems.
Receiving, evaluating, and responding to special purpose data calls requiring data from established sources.
Providing advice and assistance to database/data lake/data hub users on techniques for storing and retrieving data effectively and efficiently,

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Minimum Qualifications: Have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
AND
Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service that includes performing at least three (3) of the following:
1) Applying data management concepts, principles, and methods to include working with one or more types of databases; 2) Developing data management tools such as data models and dictionaries;
3) Generating complex queries from data stored in databases and other data sources;
4) Knowledge of data integration methodologies, features, or concepts
