THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. Section 1109 of the National Defense Authorization Act Fiscal Year 2020 Public Law 116-92 amended Section 9905 of title 5, United States Code (U.S.C.) to streamline and simplify certain Department of Defense civilian Direct Hire Authorities to recruit and appoint qualified candidates directly to certain positions in the competitive service in the Department of Defense.

Duties

You will coordinate and maintain appropriate documentation to support plans and funding, and evaluate effect on budget and program milestones. You will summarize and make recommendations on the effectiveness of command in meeting and establishing goals and objectives. You will analyze and communicate total ownership cost of IT investments; respond to data-calls related to IT asset inventories, cost, usage and life-cycle management. You will monitor and assist in executing IT procurements. You will evaluate and analyze new or changes to existing business practices to satisfy regulations, policies, and directives. You will work with budget/finance and contracting department to coordinate successful obligation of funds to planned IT acquisition requirements.

  • This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

Qualifications

For GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Presenting and writing communication clearly and distinctly to peers, customers and superiors. Analyzing information, concepts, policies, and guidance in regards to IT and budgeting. Interpreting and utilizing laws, policies, regulations and procedures. Using word processing, spreadsheet, email, database, internet and presentation applications. For GS-07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Responding to written communication clearly and distinctly. Communicating with peers, customers and superiors.
