You will serve as a ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHEAST of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.
Duties
You will coordinate, conduct, and/or participate in environmental investigations, inspections and surveys for the purpose maintaining facility compliance with a variety of environmental rules and regulations.
You will provide support for the 40 CFR Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Program to ensure proper management of solid waste, hazardous waste, controlled industrial waste, non-regulated waste, and universal waste.
You will provide staff advisory, consulting and reviewing services to all activities within the FRC field activities for environmental questions related to environmental regulations.

Qualifications
FOR GS-09 LEVEL Consideration:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07/08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following duties:
Coordinating, conducting, and reporting the findings of environmental compliance investigations and inspections to senior engineers/scientists.
Developing/documenting hazardous waste determinations and waste profiles in accordance with the law as held accountable in the 40 CFR Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) regulations for highly complex maintenance and repair industrial processes such as chemical cleaning and stripping processes, various types of media blasting, surface coating operations, metal plating, engine disassembly and reassembly, engine performance testing and non-destructive testing.
Coordinating analytical testing/sampling, interpreting the results for proper waste and/or wastewater determination, training personnel at all levels, implementing appropriate operational procedures, and maintaining records for reference and regulatory compliance.
Utilizing Hazardous Materials Management System (HMMS) software to document waste profiles and analytical data as well as extract data for reporting purposes.
Coordinating solid waste disposal/recycling at an industrial maintenance and repair facility.
For GS-11 Consideration:
I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties:
Establishing, conducting, and reporting findings of environmental compliance investigations and inspections to senior leaders/management.
Making hazardous waste determinations while developing/documenting waste profiles in accordance with the law as held accountable in the 40 CFR Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) regulations for a highly complex maintenance and repair industrial processes to include chemical cleaning and stripping processes, various types of media blasting, surface coating operations, metal plating, engine disassembly and reassembly, engine performance testing and non-destructive testing.
Determining what analytical testing/sampling is required, interpreting the results for proper waste and/or wastewater determination, developing and providing training to personnel at all levels, implementing appropriate operational procedures, coordinating shipping/disposal, and maintaining records for reference and regulatory compliance.
Utilizing Hazardous Materials Management System (HMMS) software to document waste profiling, shipping/disposal records, industrial processes, and analytical data as well as extract data for reporting purposes.
Coordinating solid waste disposal/recycling at an industrial maintenance and repair facility, to include scrap metal and reclamation of various materials.
