About the Position: This position is within Directorate of Industrial Operations (DIO) at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.

Duties

Provide a full range of testing/ troubleshooting procedures to a variety of components used in electronic missile systems. Assist senior technicians with the maintenance and repair of missile system test consoles. Provide guidance to journeyman in the test and repair of components used in electronic systems of guided missiles. Perform certified soldering in accordance with current specifications. Operate precision measuring devices. Recommend changes to test procedures when receiving insufficient data.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
• Pre-employment and annual Physical examinations are required.
• Must be able to lift up 40 lbs.
• Must be willing to travel (TDY) up to 15% of the time.
• Must be able to obtain a Soldering Certificate within 3 months of employment.
• Must be willing to accept a Temporary appointment.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an ELECTRONICS MECHANIC without more than normal supervision. Perform the common duties of overhaul, test, troubleshooting and repairing electronic assemblies and subassemblies of guided missiles and associated ground equipment. Test automatic and semiautomatic missile systems, provide repair to missile consoles, and operate various measuring devices. Work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
