About the Position: This position serves as a Logistics Management Specialist for the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command. The Army's Face to the World, the one-stop focal point for Army FMS, and the international partner of choice in U.S. security assistance. This position may be filled at either the GS-09 or target GS-11 grade level.

Duties

Serve as a Logistics Management Specialist with responsibility for actions involved in Foreign Military Sales policy and procedures. Remain up-to-date on Foreign Military Sales logistics, transportation, and supply program management procedures. Utilize supporting logistical databases to input, manipulate, and extract data to determine source of problems and recommend action to be taken. Serve as a USASAC representative in meetings, conferences and workshops.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
• The position requires DoD SC Workforce (SCW) Certification. The incumbent must complete certification-related training requirements in the SC Area of Concentration (AoC) within the timeframe associated with the position's SCW certification level.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing, interpreting, and determining the scope and character of logistic policies, procedures and regulations affecting existing and future logistics systems; and ensuring compliance with logistical policies, plans, programs, and procedures to meet mission goals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
