The Home Telehealth program provides healthcare education, services, or activities across time and/or distance barriers, using telecommunications technologies in accordance with established VHA and VISN standards. Home Telehealth provides coordinated care to the Veterans in accordance with VISN level and facility level policies and procedures, and supports VISN and facility strategic planning efforts.
Duties
MAJOR DUTIES:
Maintain files, reports; receives incoming correspondence from vendors via US Mail delivery, intradepartmental documents, fax documents, hand delivered packets and routes them to the appropriate channels.
Processes incoming and outgoing materials such as correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communication.
Performs the following types of duties: Provides general clerical mail and correspondence services such as preparing a variety of recurring reports, reviews outgoing correspondence for proper attachments, or consolidating/coordinating submittals of information, and filing.
Incumbent will assist with compiling and entering data for various reports and assures reports are completed and routed in a timely manner.
Provides information to the appropriate supervisor or point of contact, when necessary, and provides ongoing status reports of claim review and authorization activity to appropriate resources as needed.
Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00-3:30

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary and includes walking, standing, bending, phone calls,
and carrying light items such as paper, books training material, monitors and scale. May require travel via a government vehicle to different clinic sites. This position requires a valid Nevada driver's license.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/21/2023.
Proficiency Requirements: (Office Automation) In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants for these positions must show possession of the following skills, as appropriate. Applicants may meet these requirements by passing the appropriate performance test, presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local office, or by self-certifying their proficiency. Performance test results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for 3 years. Agencies may verify proficiency skills of self-certified applicants by administering the appropriate performance test.
GS-06 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: Providing administrative support; collecting, compiling and tracking data and information; processing documents and reports; establishing, updating and maintaining office files and records; performing automation duties using such software applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail, desktop publishing, calendar, database and/or graphics; answering telephones, referring visitors, and providing information.
GS-07 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: Program administration and management; assistance with day-to-day operational duties; Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with variety of individuals; Problem solve and apply decision making skills. sustaining processes and procedures to ensure program effectiveness; interpreting, analyzing, and responding to requests for information from internal and external entities; collecting, compiling, managing and reporting program data; preparing correspondence and reports; utilizing automated software (such as Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
