Duties

Serves as a Senior Logistics Management Specialist (Customer Relationship Management) on the DLA Land and Maritime, Maritime Customer Operations staff. Works with customer acquisition, life cycle and engineering elements to identify customer preferences and requirements for acquisition, life cycle, combat readiness, weapons systems/troop systems support, and logistics support. Tracks Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for specific initiatives and general metrics that monitor military service support. Acts as a consultant to identify key problem areas or recommend solutions to recognized problem areas in customer operations, logistics operations, supply chain and weapon system/troop system support. Manage, tracks assigned initiatives and provides regular status reports to the Director/Deputy, Maritime Customer Operations. Reviews and analyzes both DLA and customer future logistics plans for the alignment of DLA capabilities to customer needs. Maintain contact with executive levels within private industry to identify commercial practices appropriate for adoption by DLA.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Logistics Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Perform in-depth analysis of interrelated functions and systems including service readiness indicators, weapon system/troop system support and/or logistical processes. Experience with high level analytical techniques such as trend analysis, data analysis and presentation, and cost/benefits analysis. Utilize military service automated logistics systems including those used to support military weapons systems/troop systems and/or overall major logistics support. Expert level of report writing and formal briefing techniques. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
