This position is a Program Support Assistant that is organizationally aligned in the Health Informatics Service, Office of the Chief of Staff, at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital, Medical Center, Columbia, MO. The primary purpose of the position is to perform administrative, technical, and program analysis support for the Health Informatics Service. This position reports to the Chief Health Informatics Officer (CHIO).
Duties
Responsible for a wide variety of duties associated with the effective execution of Health Informatics Service for the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital, Medical Center, Columbia, MO. Duties include but are not limited to:
Reviews documents, reports and applications for omissions and inconsistencies, and ensures data entry is complete and accurate to ensure compliance with guidelines.
Compiles data from supervisor, program manager or other sources and applies basic analytical methods.
Provides program support for assigned committees and staff meetings, including scheduling; securing meeting space; preparing and distributing agendas; tracking attendance, tracking action items; and receiving and organizing presentations and reports.
Receives and screens telephone calls and directs contact as appropriate.
Responds to routine matters independently and answers most questions using established business practices involving established policy or standard operating procedures
Maintains program records, policies, and procedures manuals to meet Joint Commission (JC), Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, (CARF) and VHA standards.
Serves as the Automatic Data Processing Applications Coordinator (ADPAC) support person.
Serves as the Health Informatics Point of Contact for computers, printers, and telephones to include submission and tracking of OI&T Requests. Provides technical assistance for staff regarding computer/printer problems and refers issues that cannot be resolved to OI&T.
Edits letters, composes letters and reports, reviews correspondence for accuracy and completeness, develops standing form letters and replies to inquiries
Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/21/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Knowledge of filing, typing, entering data, maintaining records, and using and completing forms, Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for
automating, developing, implementing, or administering database systems.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books, or driving an automobile, etc. No specific physical demands are required to perform the work.
