You will serve as a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST in the Communication & Information Systems, Director of Maritime Operations of COMMANDER US PACIFIC FLEET.

Duties

You will acquire situational awareness in order to assess operational mission impact of communications systems outages and degradations affecting afloat and shore commands. You will provide communications systems (CS) management to all CS entities that support Pacific maritime operations. You will conduct thorough analysis of data derived from message reporting, emails, voice reports and web-based tools from diverse organizations. You will determine whether the situational awareness meets the Commander's Critical Information Requirement (CCIR) written guidelines and make timely notification. You will use investigative techniques to acquire detailed information, expertly evaluate both operational and technical impact, report to Navy and joint watches, and respond to highly complex technical issues. You will conduct executive level briefs and summary reporting regarding communication system outages and degradations

• This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 441 Intermediate level within 12 months of appointment.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying communications concepts, principles, and practices to analyze and respond to communication outages and/or degradations impacting the organization's mission.
