This position is located in the Office of Technology, Services and Innovation, Information Technology Directorate, Enterprise Platforms Division responsible for the management and operations and maintenance of multiple server platforms within the global USAGM infrastructure used in the daily production and distribution of video, audio, and web content The incumbent serves as a Senior Technical Lead whose area of concentration is the infrastructure platforms operations and management.
Duties
As a Supervisory IT Specialist (OS), you will be responsible for duties to include, but are not limited to:
(A) Supervision of On-Going Operations
The Manager has day-to-day responsibility for the agency's computing platforms, including protecting the Agency computer systems from harmful viruses and technical attacks on the Agency; ensuring adherence to federal and agency standards and policies, and ensuring that the computer-based institutional "memory" is maintained.
He/she manages and supervises through subordinate staff the full range of activities related to the daily administration, maintenance, modification, and upgrade of the USAGM's existing computer platforms and equipment, including the system's configurations and protocols, as well as the associated operating systems and application software. The manager provides day-to-day supervision of a staff of IT Specialists and technicians, and exercises supervisory management over the IT staff. He/she is responsible for work assignments, schedules, goals and procedures, performance reviews, career guidance, and counseling for these employees. This involves supervising, directing through subordinate staff, or directly performing the tasks necessary to operate, maintain, and administer the agency's computer network system.
(B) Program Management
The Division Technical Lead; assist in the evaluation and implementation of new information modifications and extensions to both the server and workstation infrastructure assuring that the agency is taking advantage of new technologies to simplify agency procedures as well as any applicable economies. This could also include integration of external solutions such as hosted email or collaboration tools seamlessly into the agency's existing infrastructure.

- This position has been designated supervisory requiring that the selectee on an initial appointment as a supervisor or manager serve a one-year probationary period.
- The full performance grade level for this position is GS-14.

Qualifications
Applicants applying for the GS-14 grade level must meet the following requirements:
Have IT-related experience demonstrating EACH of the four competencies AND one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service as described below:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Specialized experience is:
Experience leading the management, delivery and or integration of highly complex IT Enterprise Information Technology Platforms systems and services.
Experience evaluating complex Enterprise IT environments/Systems and providing innovative technical recommendations and solutions to management.
Experience leading IT Enterprise operations, projects, work tasks and implementation of changes and new technologies
Experience leading, managing, and supporting the overall planning of an IT Enterprise Platforms support team and or IT program.
Experience building alignment and relationships with stakeholders.
Education
Education is not required for this grade level. It cannot be used for qualification purposes.
