Duties
Manage communications for NIST OAM projects, funding opportunities, and awards in support of the division's objectives to develop strategic partnerships, outreach, communications, and manufacturing workforce initiatives that strengthen U.S. competitiveness in advanced manufacturing. This includes communications related to launching new Manufacturing USA institute(s)- including those pertaining to the CHIPS + Science Act, other funding opportunities, award announcements, advanced manufacturing outreach, and project impacts/success stories. The position will independently plan and consult with the Partnerships and Outreach Division Chief and coordinate closely with other members of the division, representatives from the Program Operations Division, NIST Public Affairs Office and the CHIPS R+D office, and key Manufacturing USA network stakeholders. Duties include creating and executing communication plans and measuring effectiveness of the same, producing marketing and communications materials, developing plain language messaging on advanced manufacturing technical topics, writing and editing content for a variety of target audiences and in myriad formats (e.g., presentations, websites, social media, email newsletters, and reports), providing communications-related guides, guidance and best practices, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, and helping to improve program communications.

Qualifications
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level (ZA-III at NIST) in the federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience in creating and managing effective communications strategy and plans aimed at providing information and engaging a variety of internal and external audiences across multiple platforms and communication channels, producing various types of communication products, and demonstrated expertise in effectively collaborating with multiple stakeholder groups.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.
