You will serve as a SUPERVISORY OPERATIONS PROJECT NON-NUCLEAR ZONE MANAGER in the Operations Manager (Code 3001), Operations Department (300) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will plan overall work assignments, determine total resour4ce requirements and allocation based on schedules and work sequences which often change significantly. You will coordinate and modify the work plan to integrate with systems and work in other zones including ships force work. You will ensure safe work practices are followed. You will assign work, evaluate performance, and provide employee evaluation input.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with applying concepts and practices concerning shipyard work operations, control system requirements trade and shop practices; Experience with applying administrative knowledge of trade and technical methods, procedures, material and processes associated with the repair and overhaul of complex Navy vessels; Experience with managing a project or portion or a project which involves directing federal wage system and general schedule employees; Experience in project management, quality control, cost control, schedule control and work flow techniques; Experience with investigating and analyzing practices and problems to initiate effective improvements and solutions; Experience with analyzing, evaluating, and adjusting project resources, work operations equipment and for facilities against current and future schedule work requirements. .
