Job opening: Graduate Education Specialist

Salary: $53 105 - 84 441 per year

Duties

You will provide support by planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of academic administrative programming tasks. You will perform a variety of financial management duties including funding transactions, maintaining logs, invoices and processing claims. You will administer the Navy?s Civilian Institutions education programs conducted at civilian universities nationwide. You will perform program administrative support duties including technical and support assistance to students, maintaining information on students, collaborating with universities and advising students.

Requirements

Qualifications

For the GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing financial management and program administrative support duties including assisting with planning, coordinating, and/or executing a variety of academic administrative programming tasks. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Assisting with student financial functions. 2) Preparing and reviewing financial and administrative documentation. 3) Providing technical and support assistance to customers. For the GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing financial management and/or program administrative support duties to support an organization. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Reviewing financial or program documentation for any issues. 3) Performing basic budgetary and accounting duties. 4) Performing general administrative tasks as required to support operations and management. Education may be used to substitute specialized experience with the following:

For the GS-09:
  • Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR
  • Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree; OR
  • Successful completion of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled; OR
  • A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
For the GS-07:
  • Successful completion of one full year of graduate level education -OR-
  • Successful completion of a Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement (cumulative GPA of 2.95 or better)
  • A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
