Duties
Performs work that involves planning and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and/or maintenance of hardware or software systems using standard principles, theories, concepts and methods for systems administration.
Implements security plans, policies, and preventive maintenance schedules.
Utilizes diagnostic tools and techniques to verify operability, optimize the functionality of networks and/or systems, and to diagnose/recover failed systems.
Carries out routine maintenance, upgrade, and support of user hardware, operating systems, and/or applications software.
Provides ongoing optimization and problem-solving support to minimize interruptions in customers' ability to carry out critical business activities.

- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- Must be available to work Monday- Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (EST.)
- Possess or obtain and maintain most applicable Computing Environment (CE) certificates of training.
- Possess or obtain and maintain most applicable minimum Information Assurance baseline security certification of Security+ equivalent (or higher certification) in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Technical, Level I technicians.
Qualifications
Specialized IT experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training or IT certification which demonstrates skill in applying: principles and methods for integrating information systems components; performance tuning tools and techniques; system diagnostic tool and fault identification techniques; systems administration methods; and IT security principles.
OR,
Completion of a master's degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree in computer science/engineering, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours as indicated above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
In addition, candidates must demonstrate IT-related experience which addresses the following four competencies:
1. Attention to detail - Such as implementing quality control procedures and conducting compliance reviews.
2. Customer service - Such as providing assistance to both internal and external customers; assessing customers' needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
3. Verbal communication - Such as conducting formal presentations or training to audiences at varying levels of hierarchy and technical expertise.
4. Demonstrated problem-solving skills - Such as identifying the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

5 years' experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training or IT certification which demonstrates skill in applying: principles and methods for integrating information systems components; performance tuning tools and techniques; system diagnostic tool and fault identification techniques; systems administration methods; trouble shooting systems on servers and/or cloud infrastructure; working and responding to user help desk tickets; and IT security principles.
