About the Position: The position is located at U.S. Army Garrison-Miami, part of the Installation Management Command (IMCOM), which is dedicated to providing Service members and their families a high quality of life and ensuring good stewardship in our host community. Duties

Provide basic program briefings/presentations on ASAP services to commanders, civilian supervisors, and other personnel. Coordinate events on the master program calendar to support administrative facets of the Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP). Develop targeted proposals that provide an overview of the needs of the ASAP program for senior leadership review. Manage government purchase card for the ASAP or as directed by the ADCO. Provide statistical data related to ASAP prevention and treatment to the Alcohol and Drug Control Officer (ADCO).

  • This is a Term position scheduled to last 3 years. A term position may be extended to a maximum of six years depending upon the needs of management.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: administering, controlling, and coordinating the installation drug and/or alcohol testing and training programs in accordance with DoD and DA directives and policies. Direct responsibilities include managing the drug and/or alcohol testing program; maintaining quality control procedures; serving as technical advisor to commanders and civilian/military supervisors; operating urinalysis equipment; and training Unit Prevention Leaders (UPL), civilian employees and civilian/military personnel in supervisory/management positions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: business administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer SkillsTechnical CompetenceTechnical Credibility Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
