The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Senior Computer Scientist in the 48th Cyberspace Test Squadron (48 CTS) to perform professional work in the computer sciences test and evaluation of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, &
Reconnaissance (C5ISR) weapon systems and in complex electronic instrumentation systems.
Duties
Performs a broad range of program/project management functions for C5ISR and weapons systems test planning, documenting test methodologies and directives and evaluating the effectiveness of advanced C5ISR and weapons systems related equipment, resources, and force structures.
Provides technical guidance, advisory support, resource management, and assistance on an entire test project and/or major phases for broad and varied operations.
Attends meetings, conferences, briefings, and seminars related to test program planning/execution, advanced technologies, and support system concepts.
Accomplishes professional development and maintains technical proficiency through professional interaction with technical and professional societies, associations, academia, symposia, contractors, research and development organizations, and participation in formal training programs.

- Most work is performed in an office environment, with some travel required to attend meetings or review testing operations at remote sites.
- Work is primarily sedentary; however, some physical demands are made for visits to test sites and facilities, conferences at locations away from division work area, and temporary duty away from the home base.
- The duties of this position require an advanced level of competence in basic science. Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a related technical discipline
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
- Must exhibit a high degree of judgment, resourcefulness, originality, and the ability to foresee the impact of changing technology.
- Selectee is expected to be granted with and/or maintain the appropriate security clearance required for the position.
- This position may require drug testing and the candidate may be subject to passing a drug test upon selection.
- This position has been designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).
- IAT Level II certification is required, Level III is preferred

BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. Transcripts must be submitted along with application.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: I have or will have within 120 days of closing of this announcement, 1 year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12 in Federal service or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes with responsibility to perform professional work in the computer sciences to perform test and evaluation of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) weapon systems and in complex electronic instrumentation systems for both ground based

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-?grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Professional knowledge of scientific and/or engineering concepts, principles and practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply theories, principles, and concepts to project development and execution.
2. Knowledge of broad range of C5ISR, aircraft, ground systems, and support equipment sufficient to plan, design, test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and oversee the development and/or sustainment of highly complex weapons and/or aircraft systems.
3. Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures, and other engineering disciplines.
4. Ability to lead test teams; originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies; and support the execution of test projects and/or studies within established financial and/or time constraints.
5. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies.
6. Ability to prepare design concepts, convey ideas, and formulate working drawings using computer aided design and drafting programs and/or project management/scheduling software programs.
7. Professional knowledge and experience to be able to attain maintain the specified certification levels described in DODD 8570.1 and DoD 8570.01-M needed to carry out the performance of this position.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
