You will serve as a SECURITY OFFICER in the COMMANDER, ELECTRONIC ATTACK WING, U.S. PACIFIC FLEET, NAVAL AIR STATION (NAS) at WIDBEY ISLAND.

Duties

You will maintaining operational readiness and maintenance of all USN EA-18G squadrons, as well as training of maintainers and aircrew through the Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS) and Electronic Attack Weapons School (EAWS). You will supervise the security and administration of Fleet Special Access Programs, and CNO-directed Special Security projects. You will develop, implement, and supervise security policies and procedures for Special Access Program management within the type wing, and other areas as directed by CNO/COMPACFLT. You will oversee security requirements for program security, document control, personnel security, information systems security, physical security, education, training and awareness, operations security, and communications security. You will manage security for system-high compartmented computer networks that link various commands supporting special programs worldwide. You will be responsible for the Special Access Program Facilities (SAPF) Certification and Accreditation (C and A) process and the preparation of detailed reports for submission to the Government Program Security Officer (PSO). You will direct investigations of all security compromises and advises the Wing Commander regarding the criticality and sensitivity of the compromise and recommends appropriate corrective actions. You will manage over 500 program billets to include military aircrew, Command Staff support officers, intelligence officers and maintenance personnel who require access to the compartmented programs.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current DOD Security Professionalization Certificate (Reference DODM 3305.13-M.)certification.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing and implementing security policies and regulations in support of Special Access Programs (SAP) and managing physical security operations in order to safeguard an organization's assets.
