Duties

This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, Office of Offshore Regulatory Programs, Deputy Chief, Office of Offshore Regulatory Programs, Organizational Development & Support in Sterling, VA. At the full performance level (GS-14) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Leads a team of support personnel to ensure leadership priorities are met and workload is balanced. 2. Communicates clearly and respectfully with leadership and branch chiefs to facilitate a healthy workplace. 3. Identifies opportunities for improvements in process or workflow by developing innovative ideas as a team. 4. Adopts existing project management tools and develops additional tools, processes, or methods to organize work for self, and others. 5. Analyzes program effectiveness and provides input into leadership strategic planning efforts to support programmatic improvements. 6. Anticipates leadership needs before meetings. Compiles executive level briefing materials and talking points provided by technical experts. 7. Coordinates with other administrative support services within the Department to leverage capabilities, learn best practices, and maintain awareness of changes that may impact the Office. BSEE has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval. Salary Range Information: GS-14: ($132,368 - $172,075) per annum. First time hires to the federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level. This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available. Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series/grade to which you are applying. Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-14, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1) Leading an administrative support team. 2) Managing projects, schedules, and files. 3) Supervising employees using performance measures, individual development plans, and effective communications; AND 4) Writing effective communications (e.g., emails, memos, briefing documents), presentations, and reports. Must meet all.
