About the Position: Serve as a Records and Information Management Specialist responsible for providing technical, program and analytical expertise in the operation and management of the Army Records and Information Management (RIM) Program and its component core programs.
Duties
Provide expertise in the operation and management of the Army Records and Information Management (RIM) Program and its component core programs.
Develop long-range objectives, plans and feasibility studies for overall program and specialized components of the program.
Identify procedures and methodologies that improve the effectiveness and efficiency in the life cycle management of Army records and documentation.
Administer the organization's RIM program to align with the agency's business and mission needs.
Conduct evaluations of Federal and Departmental compliance, and suitability to Army functional requirements of recordkeeping systems.
Perform complex analytical studies that result in improved procedures, methods, or policies applicable to the mission.
Create and conduct records management training for agency and staff.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position may require temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 35% of the time.

GS 11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing electronic or manual recordkeeping for records creation; providing recommendations to resolve or improve procedures concerning records management requirements; and analyzing record keeping systems for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, or other implementing publications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
GS 12: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing electronic or manual recordkeeping for records creation; conducting evaluations to verify compliance with regulations; conducting or coordinating records management training for staff; and providing recommendations to improve workflow using automated tools. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
