About the Position: This is a Military Technician position with the 80th Training Command (The Army School System), G-1, located in Richmond, Virginia. Duties

Ensure that reports are prepared in proper format and contain required information. Ensure compliance with administrative regulations and procedures. Continually keep abreast of current regulatory requirements and developments in such areas as processing of military personnel and pay actions. Conduct periodic and special staff visits to subordinate units. Maintain suspense logs of recurring and one-time reports. Formulate administrative estimates, plans, orders, and reports. Review all administrative and military personnel related correspondence. Advise the Commander, staff, and subordinate units on administrative matters pertaining to all types of military personnel actions. Review incoming regulations and directives relating to administration and military personnel programs, functions, and procedures. Review studies/proposals pertaining to the Evaluation Systems for Reserve Component personnel. Maintains liaison with higher headquarters on matters relating to administrative functions. Distribute to appropriate staff elements and subordinate units, retaining administrative and personnel materials for appropriate action.

  • THIS POSITION REQUIRES ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP AS A SOLDIER IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE (USAR).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves reviewing and evaluating proposed military personnel policies and practices; processing personnel actions; and establishing personnel records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as such as Human Resource Management or Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementManages and Organizes InformationPersonnel and Human Resources Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
