This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, in the Budget Branch. As a Budget Analyst, you will perform duties in connection with the Federal Budgeting process.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
As a Budget Analyst, you will:
Formulate and justify budget estimates to support Bureau plans, programs, and activities.
Formulate, justify, and monitor internal budgets for Bureau components.
Design various software programs as a means of analyzing and presenting data to be used in budget submissions and management requests for information.
Prepare budget related documents for signature of the Budget Officer, Chief, Office of Financial Management, or others.
Interpret budgetary requirements and other economic/ financial data provided by the Department of the Treasury, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) for specific Bureau needs and requirements.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
GS-9: For the GS-9, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes:
Experience assisting with budget formulation/execution; AND
Experience processing budget related documentation; AND
Assisting with reviewing and analyzing budget information.
OR
Master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
You may qualify on a combination of education and experience.
GS-7: For the GS-7, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes:
Experience assisting with budget formulation/execution; AND
Experience processing budget related documentation
OR
1 full year of graduate level education
OR
Superior Academic Achievement
OR
You may qualify with a combination of experience and education.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-9, you must have been at the GS-7 level for 52 weeks.
For the GS-7, you must have been at the GS-5 level for 52 weeks.
