About the Position: This is a permanent position with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Directorate of Resource Management, Budget and Programs Division located in Washington, DC.
Duties
Serves as Chief, Budget and Programs Division.
Responsible for the overall administration of funds within USACE.
Interprets broad budget guidelines and develops policies and procedures for implementation to USACE.
Responsible for the preparation of budget schedules for world-wide USACE military funded budgets.
Develops distribution of dollar amounts to USACE elements responsible for technical review and control of funds.
Writes and provides appropriate budgetary and funding provisions.
Responsible for building, defending and executing budgets at Department of the Army and OMB level working directly with the resource programming community and employing analytics and state of the art financial reporting.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is a level FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT 3 Certified position designated as such in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012.
- Obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance.

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: 1) Performing a range of evaluative and analytical duties in support of appropriations, for the purposes of budget formulation, program/funds control, program oversight and review and analysis; 2) Acting as the focal point for the resolution of difficult and complex resource management funding problems involving operating funds impacting the Organization; AND 3) Preparing monthly budget execution reports of appropriations assigned and distributing to proponents and directors.
