You will serve as an Electronics Integrated Systems Mechanic Leader in the Weapons Repair Department of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR (TRFB).
Duties
You will serve as the work leader for one or more shops in the Weapons Repair Department, which is responsible for the accomplishment of repairs and alterations to Strategic Weapons Systems and Non-Propulsion Electronics Systems.
You will work with the supervisor to plan the use of equipment, facilities, and materials to accomplish a variety of work within established refit cycles, maintenance periods, and other availabilities.
You will develop daily or short-term work schedules ensuring required plans, materials and tools are available.
You will lead short time requirements of TRIDENT refits supporting corrective maintenance, emergent repairs, and overhauls running concurrently.
You will exercise judgment and independence in determining solutions to maintenance and repair deficiencies which could be complicated by interactions of the various complex subsystems.
You will coordinate with technical and professional personnel on matters affecting operational specification and changes of equipment; such as validating technical data and test programs results, reporting discrepancies, and recommending solutions.
You will coordinate the work assignments and provide technical assistance to lower/same grade employees or military personnel assigned on a task basis to assist them.
You will demonstrate your working knowledge of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic theory, and its effect with both electronic systems and hydraulic systems.
You will repair/maintain/modernize and overhaul analog, digital and hybrid devices, components and peripheral electronic equipment found in submarine Command and Control Systems or Strategic Weapons Systems.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position will require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You must be willing and able to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 40 pounds in weight.
- You will be required to work a Shift Work schedule. A Shift Work schedule describes work performed with varying and/or rotating shifts.
- You must be willing and able to work an uncommon tour of duty (may include weekend, nights, overtime, or holidays).
- You must be willing and able to work onboard ships.
- You must be willing and able to work in small and/or confined spaces.
- You may be required to perform occasional sea duty.
Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
